Football kits are a divisive subject for many fans, and here at The Killie Update, we wanted to settle a debate on the best Killie kit of all time. There are a few forgotten classics in here: From the traditional blue and white stripes to everything in between.
Martin Wall, co-host of The Killie View Podcast, put forward a current kit as his personal favourite since he started following the only team in Ayrshire:
The current away kit (on the right) is inspired by penicillin, with its DNA sequence printed on the shirt in honour of Sir Alexander Fleming, who discovered the life-saving medication. Fleming famously attended Kilmarnock Academy in his youth.
The home shirt may well be a future classic too, should Killie maintain their European push post-split.
Ally Niven’s favourite Kilmarnock shirt is a home kit unlike any other: It’s not blue and white stripes, nor is it an Oxford Blue effort. It is a classy white top, which almost looked like it was meant to be an away strip. Niven also has some honourable mentions, including a couple more '90s classics and a somewhat forgotten shirt from the mid-2010s:

The 2014/15 home shirt
Lindsay Wilson's best-ever Killie kit is the stip of champions, you could say:

Wilson, like the Killie View, also believes the team's current attire will be fondly remembered due to on-pitch success. Time will tell!
One thing that Killie fans can be proud of is our strong travelling support. We have had many striking away kits over the years, including this one, a personal favourite of Gillian's from the 1998/99 season:
Here at The Killie Update, we love attention to detail, so that shirt certainly floats our boat!
The old cliché is that you have got to be mad to be a goalkeeper, and over the years at Killie, we have been treated to many a 'keeper kit design that some might say is a little out there. Lindsay Wilson chips in again with some great goalkeeping attire:
A goalkeeper shirt that lives long in the memories of many is Matchwinner's multicoloured effort, most associated with Bobby Geddes and worn between 1991 and 1996.

So much so, that the club have in more recent years reproduced this shirt. It is an all time favourite of Trena, best known as KillieKakes, but her furry friends prefer somewhat more recent outfield strips:
What we’ve learned here is that Killie have had many a brilliant strip over the years, and generally speaking, we love designs that are a bit out there and push limits, be it a '90s goalkeeper shirt, or our current DNA-inspired away shirt: A Kilmarnock shirt is more than the much-loved, traditional blue and white stripes.
